DYNAFIT ATHLET PASCAL EGLI SETS A NEW RECORD AT THE RESEGUP IN LECCO
he Verticla Run ResegUp took place on June 4, 2016 at the southern part of Lake Como. The starting place was located directly alongside the lake at Carmenati Square in Lecco. The athletes had to climb within 24 kilometers 1,800 vertical meters to the top of mount Resegone and back to the lake. The men overall winner was Pascal Egli. Katrina Villumsen won the women's title.
Pascal Egli left no chance to the other competitors
Despite the rainy weather many spectators cheered for the runners. Pascal Egli was the celebrated man at this day. He was able to manage the difficult conditions best and set a new track record with a time of 2h10’20’’. The places two and three were being clinched by Gil Pintarelli (2h12’32’’) and Paolo Bert (2h18’30’’). In the women competition Katrina Villumsen won with a time of 2h44’15’’ followed by Ingrid Mutter (2h51’21’’) and Elisa Sortino (2h52’22’’).
Pascal Egli exploits the opportunity to get points for the championship and to assure a spot in the national team and to take part at the European Championship in Arco on July 2, 2016. His Dynafit colleague Luca Cagnati recovered from an injury that stopped him at the beginning of the season. His 5th place at ResegUp makes him a good candidate for the championship.
